One dead following fiery single-vehicle crash east of Egeland
(Fargo, ND) -- A woman was killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Towner county yesterday morning. The crash happened on State Highway 66 about four miles east of Egeland when a car left the road, flipped several times and caught on fire. 31-year-old Brittney Beck of Cando was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. The driver, 20-year-old Jace Thomas of Cando, was hurt and is facing charges.

EPA to fund San Haven cleanup
The Turtle Mountain band is getting some financial help to clean up the site of the former San Haven Hospital. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has doled out a one-million dollar grant to help revitalize 14 acres where the complex sits. The money comes from the so-called Brownfields Program. The former hospital is contaminated with asbestos…lead…and polychlorinated chemicals which affect building materials…soil…and water. San Haven operated as a tuberculosis sanitarium and state hospital from 1909 through 1987.

Rafters are energy roof truss with a two-foot overhang. The home is built using green and energy efficient materials, green, and energy efficient building practices. The interior has rough in plumbed with system pressure checked and certified. The electrical is roughed in only. Exterior walls are insulated, with some ceiling insulation also completed. Cando Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash, Driver Could Face Charges
TOWNER CO., N.D. (KFGO) – A 31-year-old woman from Cando, North Dakota, is dead after a crash in rural Towner County on Highway 66, about four miles east of Egeland. Highway Patrol says just before 6 on Saturday morning, the car crossed the center line, left the highway, vaulted over a field approach, rolled multiple times, and caught fire. The passenger, Brittney Beck, was thrown from the car and died at the scene. Charges are pending against the male driver, 20-year-old Jayce Thomas, from Cando. Thomas was injured.
