Impact Academy Preschool expands, will offer NC pre-K program in the fall

Parents searching for pre-K options in the fall will have one more facility to consider.

The Impact Academy Preschool, located at 821 Word Plaza in Rocky Mount, recently announced it will expand its early childhood education program to include pre-K. As an officially recognized North Carolina pre-K provider, the academy will offer classroom experiences designed to enhance school readiness for eligible four-year-old children. NC pre-K is a state-funded program providing academic foundation to children four years of age, who attend at no cost.

In addition to this accreditation, the academy is expanding its programming to cater to children from infant to toddlerhood. This expansion will create at least six new job opportunities and open 30 slots for child care services for children ranging from two months of age to three years old. Parents pay tuition to send their children to the preschool.

“We are excited about the expansion, and we want to be part of the driving force that moves our community in the right direction when it comes to early childhood education,” said Latoya Greene, director of operations for the preschool. “This expansion will make a positive impact on child care within our community by decreasing the child care waiting list for children ages 0-5 years old while providing an opportunity for gainful employment for highly qualified early educators.”

Established in August 2021, the preschool’s mission is to “educate children, empower families, impact communities.”

The Impact Academy is a four star preschool, and the school’s leaders said that rating showcases the academy’s exceptional quality and the dedication of the preschool’s staff and leadership team.

The preschool’s hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. According to the preschool’s website, tuition for the preschool can be paid in weekly payments of $160 or in monthly payments of $640. There is also an operations and supply fee of $80 to be paid by the third month of care and every six months of care thereafter.
