Elementary school students host annual plant sale

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) -- Elementary school students host a horticulture sale for local communities.

According to the McDonald County School district, students have been actively involved in plant sale preparation from planting and watering to pruning and tending since March. Now, students are preparing to see the fruits of their labor.

"We're thrilled to see the enthusiasm and dedication our students have poured into this project," says Elizabeth Wilkinson, Ag Teacher at Rocky Comfort Elementary. "The Annual Plant Sale not only serves as a fundraiser for our school greenhouse but also provides invaluable lessons in horticulture, marketing, and sustainability."

The school district says the annual plant sale is one of the school's largest events and draws in people from all over the 4-States. Proceeds from the sale will be reinvesting into the school greenhouse for improvements and supplies.

Students will be selling the plants on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rocky Comfort Elementary School.
