Late-day showers for Saturday in the Hudson Valley; chance of thunderstorm for Sunday

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Addison Green says the Hudson Valley will showers late in the day on Saturday and there is a chance for a thunderstorm on Sunday.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

- For the third morning in a row, chilly overnight temperatures will lead to frost concerns Saturday morning for Orange, Rockland, Putnam and Norther Westchester counties, with a frost advisory in effect.

- Temperatures will warm up nicely throughout the day on Saturday with a chance for showers arriving later in the day.

- Scattered showers come through overnight and will linger into Sunday morning.

- A clearing trend will come through Sunday afternoon with an isolated shower or storm chance late in the day.

- Temperatures continue to warm up Sunday and peak on Monday with a more summer-like feeling as highs could get into the low-80s.

- Next week will trend warmer than average temperatures with a few shower chances from time to time.

FORECAST

OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and cold to chilly, again, with light to calm winds. Frost and freeze concerns will develop again. Lows in the low- to the mid-30s.

SATURDAY: Increasing clouds with chance of showers for the late day hours. Highs in the upper-50s to low-60s. Lows in the mid-40s.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of scattered showers in the morning hours and an isolated shower or thunderstorm chance late in the day. Highs in the low-70s. Lows in the mid-50s.

MONDAY: A mix of sun and clouds but feeling warmer. Record of 89 was set back 1974. Highs in the low-80s. Lows in the mid-50s.
