ROCKINGHAM — The circus is back in town.

The Zerbini Family Circus returned to Rockingham Speedway on Tuesday and continues tonight and Thursday.

There are two performances scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday and a 6 p.m. performance set for Thursday evening.

According to the group’s Facebook page, the family has been in the circus business for more than 250 years.

Owner Alain Zerbini told the RO in 2022 that the circus began in his home country of France and said his son is the ninth generation of the family to be in the business.

Each 90-minute show features aerialists, acrobats, juggling, clowns, performing ponies, miniature donkeys, dogs and “a real life transforming car,” according to the Facebook page.

See the RO’s Facebook page for photos from 2022.

After leaving Rockingham, the Zerbini Family Circus has stops in Carthage, Wilson and Greenville.

Tickets are available online or at the circus entrance.
