ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Several people were detained following a police standoff at a Selye Terrace home Friday morning.

According to the Rochester Police Department, they received a report of two males fighting with a weapon. They responded to the area around 12:30 a.m. and received further information that one of the suspects fired a gun and ran into a house.

Officers said they found the house and surrounded it. After a short period of time, all of the people in the home came out, including the possible suspect and victim. Everyone was detained.

Nobody was injured, but officers found evidence of a shooting in front of the residence.

Following an investigation, police learned that during the argument, 36-year-old James Young allegedly fired a handgun at the victim. Police added that Young was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Monroe County Jail.

Young was charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
