ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man found guilty of murder and arson was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison Thursday.

Shon Todd, 50, was convicted of second-degree murder and second-degree arson for the death of 37-year-old Lysandra Bagley.

On May 21, 2023 , Rochester firefighters responding to a house fire on Garson Avenue found Bagley’s body inside. She had been stabbed multiple times, and investigators said she was burned beyond recognition.

Todd, who lived with Bagley in the home and had children with her, was identified as the suspect. Investigators said they had an argument before Todd stabbed her and set the home on fire with the children still inside.

Todd pleaded not guilty to the charges, but was convicted in September 2023.
