    Man pleads guilty to manslaughter for deadly Weld St. shooting

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — An 18-year-old man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for a deadly shooting on Weld Street.

    Raymar Alexander pleaded guilty on Wednesday to the charge of first-degree manslaughter. He is expected to face a sentence of 17 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.

    Two years ago in November, police were called to a house on Weld Street. There, they found 17-year-old Chance Mosley dead . He had been shot in his upper body.

    Alexander, who was 16 years old at the time , was identified as the suspect in the shooting. Investigators said he shot Mosley and shot himself during an altercation.

    Alexander’s sentencing is expected to occur on July 19, 2024.
