ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — There are 193 baseball and softball teams in Section V. Only one undefeated team remains: the East High baseball team.

The Eagles kept their perfect season alive on Tuesday afternoon with a convincing 19-1 win over Olympia/Odyssey.

Omar Rodriguez broke a scoreless tie in the 2nd inning, hitting an RBI triple. It was one of two RBI triples for the junior. He finished the day with 3 RBIs at the plate and 9 strikeouts on the mound in five innings of work. He allowed just three hits.

Tyler Ashton hit an RBI double for the Griffins in the top of the third, but the Eagles unloaded for ten runs in the bottom half of the inning to give East a 13-1 lead.

Carlos Gaston went 3-3 on the day with 3 RBIs. Emille Diaz went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

East improved to 16-0 on the year. The win was their ninth against county schools this season. Previously, they had taken down Arcadia, Mendon, Bishop Kearney twice, Bloomfield, Waterloo, Thomas, and Olympia/Odyssey earlier in the season.

East will look to keep their perfect season intact on Thursday, May 9th when they host East Rochester. Olympia/Odyssey (7-9) will host Waterloo on Friday, May 10th.
