Police have identified the two people shot to death outside a home in northeast Rochester early Monday morning.

The pair - Timothy Chealey, 43, of Rochester and Shatina Jones, 46, of Buffalo - were shot on the front porch of a home on Rialto Street, near North Clinton Avenue, around 1 a.m. Monday, said Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department.

Officers arrived at the Rialto Street residence and found that Chealey and Jones were both shot. Chealey was pronounced dead at the scene and Jones was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after she arrived, Umbrino said.

A third shooting victim, a man in his 20s, survived, officers said.

Umbrino said the three adults were "hanging out" at 28 Rialto St., when nearly two dozen gunshots were fired by multiple weapons. Rochester Police Chief David Smith on Monday said while the crowd at the house appeared to be targeted by the shooters, it was not known whether the shootings victims were the intended targets of the gunfire, as they were within a larger crowd.

The double homicide punctuated a deadly weekend in Rochester, marking the fifth and sixth homicide in a 55-hour span that started Friday night. The other homicides include a man who was stabbed at Winton Garden Towers on East Main Street Sunday night, two people killed in a triple shooting on Lyell Avenue early Saturday and a man who was shot to death at an Avenue D residence on Friday night.

No charges have been filed in connection with the Rialto Street double homicide.

Anyone with information or video linked to the killings is asked to call 911, RPD's Major Crimes Unit at (585) 428-7157 or CrimeStoppers at (585) 423-9300.
