14-year-old involved in stolen vehicle crash dies from injuries

A Rochester teenager has died following a rollover crash on Bloss Street last week, Rochester police announced on Monday morning.

The teen - a 14-year-old boy - died from his injuries Sunday night at Strong Memorial Hospital, roughly two days after the crash, said Capt. Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department.

The crash, which involved a stolen vehicle, occurred around 7 p.m. Friday. Officers said that the vehicle overturned due to reckless driving.

The vehicle carried at least six youths aged between 12 and 16. Police did not release the 14-year-old's name. Three other youngsters in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries they suffered as a result of the crash. Police did not say who driving at the time of the crash.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
