    Man accused of double shooting on Hudson Ave.

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Rochester Police Department arrested a suspect following the Hudson Ave double shooting last Friday.

    According to RPD, On April 26, officers responded to the 600 block of Hudson Ave for reports of gunfire and found evidence of gunfire and broken glass. Shortly after arriving, officers responded to more 911 calls of two people who were shot and just arrived at a home in the 1300 block of Clifford Ave.

    Officers found the two victims, a 41-year-old Rochester man and a 26-year-old Rochester woman who were suffering from at least one gunshot wound each to their upper bodies. They were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

    Following an investigation, police said both victims were shot on Hudson Ave and drove themselves to Clifford Ave.

    According to RPD, Investigators identified 21-year-old Luis Crespo as the suspected shooter and on May 2, he was arrested during a traffic stop on Peckham Street. Police said they found a loaded, modified handgun in Crespo’s front waistband.

    Crespo was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and was transported to Monroe County Jail.

    Rochester City Court confirmed that Crespo was arraigned this morning and his next hearing is May 7 at 2 p.m.
