ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Overnight expect a few showers could push through to the north of us, embedded could be a few elevated storms that have an off chance of a rumble of thunder that could be loud up by the lakeshore!

Rain will clear up early Monday morning leaving us relatively dry for the daylight hours. An odd shower, especially south of the thruway can’t fully be ruled out though. Monday will be a day of has and has nots when it comes to temperatures. The same front draped over us on Sunday will act like a line in the sand with temperatures to the north of it stuck in the 50s primarily, and to the south the upper 60s and low 70s. We expect this as it usually does to set up near the thruway for a reference line on who will be warm and who might be a touch chillier.

Rain returns overnight Monday and into Tuesday. Some will be heavy at times and once again some instability will be around so a few louder than average rumbles of thunder may go off once again. A few stronger but not inherently severe storms have a chance to grow nearer to the Southern Tier and into the southern Finger Lakes as well, wind would be the main concern if any. Rain more or less wraps up by Tuesday evening which should cap the day off with some broken sunshine as clouds move out. Highs should get near 70 but most likely will fall short of the mark.

Further into the week Wednesday and Thursday are looking picturesque as we welcome May to Western New York. Partly cloudy and importantly dry for once, we’ll see highs stick to the upper 60s and low 70s.

More rain looks likely by Friday and Saturday along with another chance to try and get temperatures higher than just the low 70s. We’ll watch how high it might go but remember there’s always room for change this far out!
