Man arrested as suspect in death of his mother near Rio Vista

(FOX40.COM) - A man in his 50s was arrested after his mother’s body was found inside a home in the community of Trilogy in Solano County, according to the Rio Vista Police Department.

Officers conducted a welfare check at a home in the area of Birch Ridge Drive and Rutland Drive and had a “struggle” with the man before his arrest, police said.

Officers then found the body of the man’s 78-year-old mother inside the home and the agency requested help from the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, police said.

“This is a terrible but isolated incident with no continuing or further threat to the community,” police said in a Facebook post.

The man was taken to the Solano County Jail on several charges, including murder.

The community of Trilogy is located about 2 miles northwest of Rio Vista and about 50 miles southwest of Sacramento.
