Community building, several homes destroyed in Tingley by EF-2 tornado
(Mount Ayr-Tingley) -- Nearly 50 homes were dealt significant damage in Ringgold County from Friday's tornadoes and severe storms. That's according to Ringgold County Emergency Management Coordinator Melissa Stark, who tells KMA News nearly 20 homes countywide were also deemed uninhabitable following the barrage of tornadoes and strong winds. As of Tuesday morning, The National Weather Service office in Des Moines had confirmed four tornadoes across portions of the county. Stark says the worst came in the form of an EF-2 tornado that quickly developed around 8:30 p.m. and ripped through the community of Tingley with nearly 125-mile-per-hour wind gusts.
