It wouldn't feel like summer in the Biggest Little City without a list of outdoor food events.
Here's everything you know about seven food events to catch through the end of spring and summer in the Reno area.
Chili on the Comstock
May 18-19
The 41st annual Chili on the Comstock returns to Virginia City on Sat., May 18 and Sunday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is a qualifier for the International Chili Society World Finals, but local guests can enjoy a variety of chili styles crafted by some of the finest chili cooks in the West.
Chili on the Comstock is also paired with a craft beer tour and the return of the Great Fire-Hot Chili Pepper Challenge. Tickets and tour packages are available for purchase online and range from $30-50, includuing chili samples, a craft beer tour or the the hot chili pepper eating contest.
“Chili on the Comstock is not only a competition for the International Chili Society but a celebration of passion and camaraderie of chili enthusiasts, bringing together people from across the region to enjoy an amazing event,” Todd Tuttle, tourism director in Virginia City, said in a statement.
River Fest
June 7-9
Enjoy early summer weather at the River Fest in Wingfield Park in downtown Reno. The annual festival features live music, a new all-ages drink tour, food trucks, local vendors, games and a Truckee River ride.
Festival passes are $10 and are valid for all three days of the event. Kids age 17 and under and dogs enter free.

Food Truck Friday
June 7-August 30
Coinciding with the first day of River Fest is Food Truck Friday, the summerly food event at Idlewild Park where vendors come each Friday to sell their foods.

BBQ Blues & Brews
June 14-15
Sample beers from over 50 microbreweries while rocking out to some live blues are available at this annual event outside the Eldorado at 345 N Virginia St.
Reno Rodeo
June 20-29
Don't let the smell of manure put you off -- there are plenty of good eats to be had at this classic Reno summer event. The 105th annual Reno Rodeo features extreme bull riding, Mutton Bustin' and much more. You can purchase tickets for the different events here. Prices range from $18-$36 for most events.

Biggest Little City Wing Fest
July 26-27
The 10th annual Biggest Little City Wing Fest is returning to Downtown Reno for the July 26-27 weekend , bringing over a dozen chicken wing vendors as well as family-friendly activities and live music. You'll find the festival on Virginia Street, outside of Eldorado.
