Two Transients Arrested for Starting Multi-Million Dollar Building Fire in Riverside, CA.
Two transients have been arrested for starting a fire in an unoccupied building in the downtown neighborhood of Riverside, California on May 16, 2023. Firefighters arrived on the scene and discovered smoke and fire coming from the roof of the two-story building, which was boarded up. The fire intensified, and all fire personnel were evacuated from the interior of the building. A defensive attack began to save surrounding buildings, including a nearby senior living facility.

A 38-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man was killed during an incident in Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The incident occurred on May 27 at 8:47 p.m., when deputies assigned to the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 23000 block of Alessandro Boulevard.

Helped by a police dog, officers arrested a parolee on weapon and drug charges following a pursuit on May 31, according to the Fontana Police Department. At 6:25 p.m., officers attempted to pull over a vehicle for some traffic violations near Chaparral Avenue and Springoak Court in the southern area of Fontana.
Charred Remains Found in 1970 Identified Through Genealogy
A charred skeleton discovered by a hiker outside San Bernardino, California, in 1970 was a John Doe for half-a century. But with recent advances in DNA analysis, detectives decided to send a bone fragment to a private lab to see if they could put a name to the corpse. KTLA reports that the lab was able to create a genetic profile for the man and use that to find possible relatives and come up with his identity: James Hollowell Harvey, born in 1913. A convicted felon accused of killing a 27-year-old Hemet man and dumping his remains near Perris must stand trial for murder, a judge ruled Thursday. Ricardo Pardo, 40, of Perris was arrested last summer following a nearly yearlong Riverside County Sheriff’s Department investigation into the slaying of Joshua Crosier.

California Man Sentenced To Ten Years In Federal Prison For Trafficking Methamphetamine In California And New Hampshire
CONCORD, N.H. – A recent federal court ruling announced by U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young stated that a man from California has been sentenced for the trafficking of methamphetamine in California and New Hampshire. The defendant, Robert Perez, Jr. - who previously resided in Perris, California - was handed a 10-year prison sentence and three years of supervised release by U.S. District Court Judge Steven J. McAuliffe. Perez pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine on February 8, 2023.

The victim in this investigation has been identified as Nilton Jacks Anaya Salcedo, 38 year-old male, resident of the city of Rancho Cucamonga. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are currently available. 20-year-old killed in shooting near Banning High School; 19-year-old arrested
Update 6/1/23 Police confirmed a man was killed in the shooting and a 19-year-old suspect is in custody. The victim was identified by police as Austin House, 20, of Cabazon. He suffered several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
