The Bridgewater-Raritan School District has eliminated fees to participate in school activities, clubs and sports for the upcoming school year. School officials say this will make it easier for students to take part in the activities without the financial burden.

Superintendent Robert Beers says stability in the district’s budget over the years and additional school aid allowed the district to cover the fees.

Some students told News 12 New Jersey they were thrilled with the news.

"I think it will make a lot more students be able to play more sports because I don't have to worry about that money and I'm also a twin so all that's double so it would be better that I don't have to pay that,” says sophomore Tori Torres.

The new policy will take effect in September.
