7 Recipes From Spiral-Bound Community Charity Cookbooks
I use AI to help draft these articles. Every recipe and every fact in them is checked before publishing. The spiral-bound fundraising cookbook was a fixture of American small-town life for most of the twentieth century. A women's circle at a Methodist church in Abilene, a hospital auxiliary in Bozeman, the Junior League chapter in some county seat nobody outside the county had heard of, they collected index cards, typed the recipes, and sold the finished books at rummage sales and church bazaars to fund a new fellowship hall, a scholarship, a park bench. Across the country, thousands of these books got printed, and almost none of them traveled outside their own zip code.

A Family Affair: La Châtelaine Chocolat Co.
Passing the Torch—and the Truffles—at Bozeman’s La Châtelaine. The glass door into La Châtelaine has always felt a bit like a portal. On one side sits a familiar stretch of downtown Bozeman; on the other, an intimate slice of French provincial life. There are warm aromas of cocoa, quiet notes of French music, vintage baking tools hanging from the walls, and, of course, glass cases showing off hand-painted chocolates that double as tiny works of art.

Passenger growth drives TSA hiring at Bozeman airport
BOZEMAN, Mont. — Montana airports are seeing more passenger traffic in 2026 and that growth is pushing TSA to hire more security officers in Belgrade. At the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport , nearly three million passengers are expected to move through the airport in 2026. Bozeman’s airport has also grown from 2.8 million passengers in 2025, with traffic up 2.9 percent so far in 2026. Brian Sprenger, CEO of Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, said the airport has added passengers steadily in recent years. “So, if you look back over the past, you know, 4 or 5 years, we’ve been adding almost 200,000 passengers a year” Brian Sprenger said. “Over the past 26 years, we’re the fastest growing airport of the top 100 airports in the country,” Brian Sprenger said. TSA representatives say the demand for security workers is also rising as airports across Montana continue to grow. Part of this growth included a TSA hiring event at the Bozeman Public Library on Wednesday, September 30th. The agency said it wanted to fill part-time and full-time jobs in Belgrade, with pay ranging from $25.41 to $31.05 per hour. KC Wurtsbaugh, TSA federal security director for the state of Montana, says the
