After another remarkable run through the NCAA Tournament, NC State senior Amelia Rajecki’s season came to a close in the semifinals.

The nation’s No. 2 player lost 4-6, 5-7 to Georgia’s Anastasiia Lopata, the No. 70 individual in the country, Friday afternoon.

Rajecki cruised through the singles bracket, beating Michigan’s Julia Fliegner 6-0, 6-2 in the opening round before taking down Texas’ Malaika Rapoulu 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the round of 32. Rajecki also beat Ohio State’s Irina Siemer Cantos 7-6 (5), 6-2 before getting past Georgia’s Dasha Vidmanova, the No. 16 player in the country, 6-3, 7-5.

While Rajecki’s run ended in the Final Four, she is one of just three Wolfpack players to log over 100 career singles and doubles wins during their time in Raleigh.

The Nottingham, England, native broke onto the scene last year with a 40-11 record in singles, becoming an ITA All-American in both singles and doubles. She grew this season and made the remarkable run to the final weekend of the collegiate tennis season.

Wolfpack baseball is projected to be a regional host in next week’s NCAA Tournament.

NC State’s Nick Matthews fired a +1 first round at the NCAA Championship. He begins his second round this morning.

Wolfpack football is about to embark on its busiest time of the summer on the recruiting calendar.

    Quote of the day

Top 2025 offensive line target Isaac Sowells Jr. released his top five schools. The Wolfpack, which are viewed as one of the front runners in his recruitment, made it with ease.

“The constant contact with coach Tujague has been a big impact,” Sowells said of NC State. “The city of Raleigh seems great and the people inside the building seem awesome. I’ve talked to many of the recruits, and they also make it feel welcome.”
