Earlier Wednesday, a string of showers and thunderstorms dropped upwards of half an inch of rain between Clovis and Sanger while Fresno remained mostly dry. Into Wednesday afternoon, Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley were seeing lighter, more widespread showers take hold for several hours at a time. Another half in to inch of rain are expected across the southern San Joaquin Valley, and especially the Sierra foothills, through Thursday. Slightly lower
