Storm Tracker Forecast: Mild Wednesday, but wet & cooler late week
It's a good idea to throw on a light extra layer and to grab your sunglasses before you head out the door Wednesday. The cool and wet system off the West Coast that brought our showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday has tracked further to our south off the coast, but will continue to leave us with some clouds and limited mountain shower chances today. We'll have partly to mostly cloudy skies early today, but will end up mostly sunny to sunny in the valley this afternoon. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will persist in our mountain zones, and we'll have a chance for scattered shower and thunderstorm activity from this afternoon through this evening in our higher elevations. Temperatures are mostly starting out in the low to mid 50's in the valley, but Redding has stayed a little warmer overnight. Foothill areas are starting out in the 40's to low 50's, and most of our mountain zones have dipped into the upper 30's to 40's early today. South winds to 10mph are expected through your Wednesday. High temperatures are projected to climb into the low to mid 70's in the valley, 50's to mid 60's in the foothills and Sierra, and mid 60's to low 70's in the Northern Mountains Wednesday afternoon. Clouds will increase again in the valley this evening, and we'll have a slight chance for light showers brushing across the northern end of the valley tonight.
