While my wife is more likely to divorce me because we won't get a dog, I'm sure those who have split and had to decide what to do with their four-legged friend have found themselves in some difficult situations.
Now there may be some precedent, however, in how it's determined who gets the dog in a breakup.
The Journal's Katie Mulvaney reports and the tug-of-war over Brandy after his two owners broke up. While each made their claims over the basenji-pit bull mix a Rhode Island Superior Court judge found one case stronger than the other to decide who gets custody of the pup.
