Police are investigating an apparent house explosion that happened in Princeton overnight.

Mille Lacs County Chief Deputy Aaron Evenson tells Bring Me The News the explosion was reported at a home on the 8200 block of 52nd Street just before 4 a.m.

Deputies arrived at the single-family home to find a large debris field, some of which was on fire.

The house was occupied at the time, but no information has been provided regarding the condition of anyone inside.

It has been confirmed, however, that a dog was killed in the explosion, which is now under investigation.

More information is expected to be provided sometime later Tuesday.

The explosion and fire is under investigation.
