Creston Police Investigate Two-Vehicle Crash
(Creston) No one suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Creston. The Creston Police Department says the accident happened on Sunday at 7:09 p.m. at the intersection of N. Oak Street and Prairie. The drivers, identified as 59-year-old Marie Mongar of Creston, and 48-year-old Phillip Ronald Williams escaped injury in the crash.
Ridge receives final Lakin Outstanding Teacher Award of 2024
(Clarinda) -- A Clarinda band teacher has received the final Charles E. Lakin Outstanding Teacher Award. At a special ceremony Wednesday afternoon, Lakin Foundation and Green Hills AEA officials presented Clarinda 9-12 instrumental music instructor Courtney Ridge with the award and a $10,000 check. The Clarinda School District also received a $2,500 gift with the award. Following the ceremony, Ridge told KMA News she was shocked and honored to receive the recognition.
