Feds want to know if you’ve experienced abuse from a member of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Dept.
RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. — The Department of Justice wants anyone who has been abused by a member of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office to report it. An investigation into the January torture and abuse of two Black men at a home in Braxton ended with guilty pleas from six now-former Rankin County deputies and an ex-officer with the Richland Police Department. When the former lawmen, some of whom were known as “The Goon Squad,” pleaded guilty in August, the DOJ encouraged the public to call the FBI hotline at 800-CALL-FBI, email tips.fbi.gov, or call the FBI in Jackson at 601-948-5000 to report any instances of abuse by the RCSO.
