MONTICELLO — A record breaking catch was reeled in this April on Lake Mary Crawford. The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks confirmed the official record breaking catfish was caught by Thomas McKnight earlier this month. The Old Magee Cemetery Tour, which was well attended and proved to be a learning day. Although it got pretty hot, guest were welcomed at the First Baptist Church of Magee Family Life Center to “cooling” refreshments. I think Walt Grayson was quite impressed with Magee and its fine folks!

According to Mayor Dale Berry, I-49 highway near Berry Car Lot will be closed Tuesday, April 23, 2024. The closure is from the car lot to the Co-Op road. The railroad is repairing cross ties on the trestle (bridge) as well as other maintenance.
