BYRAM, Miss. — An 18-year-old faces charges in Byram after what police said started as a Facebook Marketplace ad for an iPhone. Police were called April 11 to the Chevron gas station at 7382 Siwell Road about a robbery. When officers arrived, the victim told them that he had been communicating on Facebook with the suspect, later identified as Torian Josiah Catchings, who is also known as T.J. The victim said Catchings had posted an ad selling an iPhone 6 for $200.
