Hurricane high schooler honored with Gold Award, highest honor in Girl Scouts
HURRICANE, W.Va. — The Gold Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can receive and Hurricane high schooler Ashton Warner achieved just that. Warner, 16, is a rising Ambassador in the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council. She’s been participating in Girl Scouts since she was just five years old.

One dead in overnight shooting in Charleston, police say
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — One person died in a shooting that occurred in Charleston early Saturday morning, authorities say. According to a news release from the Charleston Police Department, dispatch received reports of a shooting along the 400 block of Railroad Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, Dimitri Coleman, 29, was pronounced dead having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Slow-moving low pressure and a very moist atmosphere will trigger spots of standing water, poor drainage flooding and elevated streams this morning. Doppler radar indicates pockets of 1.5-2.0 inches of rain will fall in an hour in the heavier showers and thunderstorms, mainly west of our region in the Charleston area.
