'A nightmare': Destroyed culvert leaves residents in fear of being stranded again
BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — For five days, roughly 20 people who live along Lick Creek Branch Road in the Van area of Boone County were cut off from the rest of the world. The culvert and only road leading into the community was destroyed by high water during the August floods. Since then, a temporary access road has has been put in, but the concern now from neighbors is that their access out will be based on the ebb and flow of the creek that the road now dips into.

Local Pride: Three West Virginia Schools Earn Prestigious 2023 National Blue Ribbon Honor
The West Virginia Board of Education (WVBE) and the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) have acknowledged three state schools for earning the 2023 Blue Ribbon Schools honor. Lady Panthers earn win over sectional foe Sherman
SETH — The Tug Valley volleyball squad traveled to Boone County on Thursday evening and picked up a key sectional win over Sherman. The Lady Panthers won the match 2-1, despite falling into an early hole after the Lady Tide won the first set 25-13. TVHS responded in grand fashion by cruising in the second set 25-7 and then winning the third set by another wide margin of 25-15.
