San Marcos hires assistant coach Haralson to lead program
San Marcos High School has hired assistant coach Cooper Haralson to be the new head coach of the San Marcos Lady Rattler basketball team. “We have a young talented team that reminds me of the team from four years ago,” Athletic Director John Walsh said. “They made the playoffs last year, so we were looking for a coach that understood what they needed. MARSHALL, Texas (KLTV) - The ETBU Tigers are headed to the regional final following a 12-0 win over Texas Lutheran on Friday. ETBU and TLU were tied at 0 entering the third inning. Bobcats earn multiple all-conference honors
Texas State earned multiple all conference honors, as announced by the Sun Belt Conference during the end of year awards. Head Coach Par Nilsson won Sun Belt Coach of the Year becoming the first Bobcat head coach to win the award since Mike Akers in 2016. Nilsson helped lead the Bobcats to their first conference championship since 2016, which qualified Texas State to the NCAA Tournament. During the Sun Belt Golf Championships, Texas State swept the competition winning both stroke play, match play and having an individual medalist. Graduate senior Haley Jones won Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year becoming the first Bobcat to win the award since Sasikarn Somboonsup in 2017. Jones won the Sun Belt Individual Medal at the championships to propel her team to the team championship. Jones also won two tournaments, placed in the top ten three times and led the team in both birdies and pars during the spring season. Jones was named to the First Team All Sun Belt. Joining Jones for First Team honors is senior Junia Gabasa, who earned her second all-conference honors since joining the Bobcats.
