POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Schuylkill County man was sentenced to prison on Tuesday for methamphetamine trafficking.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Allateef Alkamil Ali-White, 43, of Pottsville, was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by a three-year term of supervised release for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.

Officials say Ali-White conspired to distribute over five pounds of a substance containing methamphetamine throughout Schuylkill County, and elsewhere.

According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam, Ali-White was to receive the drugs through the mail from a supplier in California.

However, investigators say they intercepted the package containing the drug before its final delivery to a location near White’s home in Pottsville.
