A 48-year-old man from Portland was arrested Monday, April 22, in connection to a fatal shooting in the Centennial Neighborhood late last year.

Donald L. Burgett II is being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center on second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

He is accused of shooting and killing Michael McFadden, 41, of Portland. He was arrested by police at a home in the 2600 block of Southeast 145th Avenue.

The investigation began when Portland Police responded to reports of a shooting near Southeast 148th Avenue and Southeast Taggart Street where they found McFadden injured.

He was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, but despite lifesaving measures, he died en route.
