‘Putt Around’ returning to downtown Sidney next weekend
SIDNEY — Downtown Sidney is teeing up for one of the most enjoyable events of the summer. Sidney Alive is hosting the Downtown Putt Around and Golf Cart Rally next Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The organization says the mini-golf extravaganza promises “good times as par as the eye can see.”

FORT LORAMIE — The Fort Loramie Athletic Department will be holding an informational meeting at 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the high school gymnasium to discuss a potential athletic facility for the district. Any resident of the district is welcome to attend. The potential financial cost to the district will be discussed, along with the reasons to explore a larger space for student athletics. Possible options include a new facility and asking for community feedback on whether the board/district should move forward with the project. It is being noted that the project will not require a new ballot issue or an increase in taxes.

DAYTON – At the Division III state track meet at Welcome Stadium on Thursday, West Liberty-Salem’s Delaney Jones placed fourth in the finals of the long jump with a leap of 18-2. Also for the WL-S girls, the 4×800 relay team comprised of Malia Miller, Addison McAuley, Ashley Yoder and Mallory Bostick placed sixth in the finals in a time of 9:39.95.
West Liberty-Salem Ladies Sit at 10th Place
The West Liberty-Salem girls track and field team is currently sitting in 10th place after Day 1 of the OHSAA DIII State Championships held at Welcome Stadium in Dayton. The 4×800 relay team got the day started with a 6th-place podium finish. The team of Malia Miller, Addison McAuley, Ashley Yoder, and Mallory Bostick ran a season-best 9:39.95.

The three were tailgating before the start of Russia’s Division IV baseball regional semifinal against Galion Northmor on Thursday at Princeton High School in Cincinnati. The Raiders won 6-2 and advanced to a regional final, which is scheduled to be played Friday. If victorious, Russia will earn a state berth for a third consecutive year.
