Intoxication manslaughter conviction reversed for Vidor man in 2019 wreck that killed 2
ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — A Vidor man, who pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter in the deaths of two Mississippi men, has had his conviction reversed. Jesse Allen Griffin pleaded guilty in a October 2019 wreck that killed the two men and then received two 14-year sentences that were set to run concurrently according to an opinion from the Texas Ninth Court of Appeals in Beaumont.

Beaumont man pleads guilty to beating man unconscious in 2022
A Beaumont man has pleaded guilty to annoyed attack after beating every other man unconscious, which carries a possible 15-year sentence. Isaiah Fuentes, elderly 52, entered his plea prior to Judge Raquel West in Jefferson County’s 252nd District Court. He admitted to assaulting the sufferer till he used to be unconscious prior to stomping on his head in June 2022. Fuentes pled guilty in change for a 15-year cap on his sentence, and Judge West will request a pre-sentencing document prior to deciding the sentence. However, a sentencing date for Fuentes has but to be set.

Beaumont police hope this surveillance technology can help put dent in crime
Beaumont police hopes a camera system across parts of the city will help officers do their jobs in a safe, more-effective manner and help bridge relationships with residents. The department, as well as other agencies like Beaumont ISD police; Lamar University police; and Port of Beaumont police, is looking to use a real-time public safety intelligence system called Fusus to tackle crime.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police Department detectives have arrested one of the suspects accused of robbing a Beaumont business in April. 20-year-old Beaumont man Daniel Leatherwood was arrested on May 25 on an unrelated charge.
