Farmington's Maxfield Training Center to be razed in June for new townhomes
FARMINGTON — The old Maxfield Training Center will be demolished this summer, officially clearing the way for a townhome development that's been years in the making. Robertson Brothers Homes and the City of Farmington finalized the sale of the old school property at 33000 Thomas St. earlier this month. Tim Loughrin, director of land acquisition for Robertson Brothers, said his company expects to demolish the building in late June.

Aug 6 Ballot – Addison Township Proposals for Fire, Ambulance, and Library. Addison Township, MI- Township Addison Township 24-1 Fire Department Capital Improvements. Shall the previous voted and approved millage increase in the tax limitation (imposed under Article IX, section 6 of the Michigan Constitution) totaling .75 mill, (.75 per $1,000.00 taxable value) which have been reduced to .7130 mill as required by law with millage rollbacks and which the millage expires 2024 be renewed and increased back to .75 mills (.75 per $1,000.00 taxable value) for levy in the years 2025-2030 inclusive for a period of six (6) years, for Fire Department Capital improvements within the Township? This funding is for the sole purpose of providing Capital improvements to the Fire Department of Addison Township, and is the only funding for Capital improvements for the Fire Department of Addsion Township. If approved and levied based on the 2024 taxable value, it is estimated this millage will raise in the first year, three hundred fifty-five thousand, six hundred and four dollars ($355,604) for the Fire Department Capital Improvements.

TROY, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - A group of Michigan soldiers known as "Polar Bears" were honored and remembered during a special Memorial Day service in Troy. "Memorial Day weekend is all about remembering our fallen heroes," said David Krall, Vice President of White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery in Troy. The Polar Bears were a military unit of roughly 5,000 troops from the 85th Division, 339th Infantry, and most called Michigan home. The Polar Bears were the American Expeditionary Force in North Russia and served as part of the Allied intervention during the Russian Civil War.
