UTICA — A 39-year-old Utica man is accused of strangling his mother to death in their Devereux Street home, according to the Utica Police Department. Police said Abraham Zlap, of Utica, choked his mother — 71-year-old Fakhrieh Abdelghani — to death during a dispute at the home they shared at 7 Devereux St. at about 3 p.m. Thursday.
