Stallions capture 24-20 victory over Breakers in a physical battle
The Birmingham Stallions were technically the road team this afternoon in a game against the New Orleans Breaks in week 7 of the USFL regular season, but you couldn’t tell from the large contingent or red and gold in the stands. The crowd was treated to a beautiful Saturday afternoon in the Magic City that culminated in the hometown Stallions getting a much needed victory of the Breakers 24-20.
Kool-Aid McKinstry training everywhere to be ready for junior season
Alabama has a defensive back that is serious about wanting a national championship and first-round draft status. Kool-Aid McKinstry, a Birmingham (Ala.) native, has been training everywhere in Birmingham to prepare for his junior season for the Crimson Tide. He is working with Coach Leonard Stephens of Step By Step Performance, Justin Woodall of All-In-One training, and he’s getting work in at Parker High School. Recently, McKinstry was in South Florida with Gold Feet Certified — crafting his speed and footwork as a defensive back. He is coming off a sophomore campaign where he had a team-high 15 pass breakups and an interception. McKinstry also made plays on special teams, earning multiple spots on All-American teams. He returns as one of college football’s marquee cornerbacks in the Southeastern Conference. Nick Saban and Kevin Steele (defensive coordinator) are hopeful they have a lockdown defender in McKinstry.
