Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner returns for final season with Bluejays
OMAHA, Neb. (KCAU) – Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner will return to the Bluejays and use his final season of eligibility, withdrawing from the 2024 NBA Draft. The three-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year averaged a career-high 17.3 points per game for the Bluejays. This upcoming season will be Kalkbrenner’s fifth with Creighton.
Glenwood council sets RAGBRAI ordinance
(Glenwood) -- Glenwood officials now have regulations in place for hosting RAGBRAI 51. Recently, the Glenwood City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance for the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. Council members then waived the second and third readings, and officially adopted the ordinance. Thousands of bicyclists, support personnel and vendors are coming to the community July 20th, as Glenwood is the event's starting point, as well as hosting the annual RAGBRAI Expo that day. Glenwood City Administrator Amber Farnan tells KMA News each community hosting RAGBRAI usually has temporary regulations on a wide range on contingencies in place.

East, Southwest Host Class ‘A’ District Baseball Tournaments
LINCOLN–(KFOR May 1)–District Pairings for Class A teams in high school baseball were released by the Nebraska School Activities Association on Wednesday. Defending state champ Lincoln East will host the A-1 district and get an opening round by and will play 11am Saturday against Friday’s winner between Omaha South and Omaha North. Omaha Westside plays Kearney at 1:30pm Saturday in the other semifinal, with the district championship at 4pm Saturday. The semifinals and championship of the A-1 tournament are at Den Hartog Field.
