Pittsfield’s Boost! North Street Cohort program launched
The Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. (DPI) and the Pittsfield Economic Revitalization Corporation (PERC) have announced the 2024 launch of the Boost! North Street Cohort. The program is funded through TDI Local Funds, provided by MassDevelopment's Transformative Development Initiative (TDI), and is matched with funding from the Pittsfield Economic Development Revitalization Corporation.
Shire Donuts set to open in Lenox next month
Lenox — Life in Lenox is about to get a whole lot sweeter! Following the December 31 closing of their first shop in their Adams hometown, Shire Donuts founders Heather and Jeff King scoured Williamstown and southern Berkshire County for a new business site to accompany their Dalton shop, finally settling on 51 Church Street in Lenox, in the former site of The Scoop ice creamery. The shop is slated to open July 3.
Bikes Fight Cancer Charity Ride coming Saturday to WMass
SOUTH DEERFIELD — On Saturday, Bikes Fight Cancer will host its 5th Bikes Fight Cancer Charity Ride at Tree House Brewing Co. The event caters to riders of all abilities, who can choose to participate in the 25- or 50-mile routes. The event directors expect close to 600 cyclists and 100 volunteers to participate in the ride, and have raised over $105,000 so far and expect to raise more than $150,000 for families affected by cancer.

A woman had to pull over on the side of I-95 because of a medical issue, and lost her purse. Maine State troopers get all sorts of calls for all sorts of issues. But on June 5, 2024, troopers got a call from an older woman who was driving and lost her purse. Pittsfield — Local organization Berkshire Pride held its eighth annual Pride Festival on Saturday, June 8, at the city’s Common Park. According to its website, the mission of the nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, which was founded in 2017, is to “provide safe spaces and events where LGBTQIA+ community members can live and thrive as their authentic selves, not only during Pride Month, but also throughout the year.” The organization holds multiple events throughout the year and also has programs and classes, including its Certified Safe-Space Project, which includes classes on “Intro to LGBTQIA+ Terminology” and “What are Pronouns & Why Do They Matter.”
