Victim of Greenfield homicide identified
GREENFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Authorities have identified the victim in a Greenfield homicide. Laurie Loisel, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, said that the body of 35-year-old Christopher Hairston, whose last known address was in Pittsfield, was found in a Chapman Street apartment on Monday after police were called to investigate a foul odor.

Police: dump truck used to break into Granby ATM
GRANBY, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Authorities are looking for the public’s help after three suspects used a dump truck to break into a Hampshire County ATM. Granby Police said that officers responded to West State Street in the early morning hours of January 16 for a report that a PeoplesBank ATM had been broken into. When police arrived, they spoke to someone who told investigators that a Ford dump truck pulled up to the ATM and three people got out of the truck. At that point, the suspects were reportedly able to open the ATM and connect chains to it before one of the suspects got back into the truck and accelerated forward, which caused it to rip open. After the other two suspects grabbed the ATM’s cash boxes, they also got back into the truck and the truck and fled the scene.

GREENFIELD — In the Chapman Street apartment where Taaniel Herberger-Brown used to live, police found a partially dismembered body on Monday afternoon. Hours later, Herberger-Brown, 42, was arrested at Albany International Airport in New York, where he said he was catching a flight to visit his mother and to various foreign destinations.
