New Grounds Coffeehouse Announces It Will Open a Plain City Location

According to a recent Columbus Monthly article, Hilliard coffee shop New Grounds Coffeehouse is making plans to expand. The coffee business will launch a new shop in Plain City, located at 135 E Main St. In a phone interview with What Now Columbus , New Grounds Coffeehouse owner Juli Willbarger shared that the Plain City location is aiming to open by early fall, depending on the interior buildout process.

“We’ll be right in the heart of Plain City,” she said of the new location.

Although Willbarger said it’s too early in the construction process to share details such as the square footage of the space or what the guest capacity will be, she did confirm that the Plain City shop will have a drive-thru, as well as some sidewalk seating in front. Since the building formerly housed a barber shop, the interior buildout will consist of knocking down walls as well as putting in an area for the coffee making equipment and order counter.

When it comes to the menu, the Plain City location will serve the same drinks guests love to order at its Hilliard shop, such as espresso beverages like lattes and caramel macchiato, in addition to hot drip style coffee and cold brew. Non coffee drinks include a selection of teas like chai latte, green and black teas and bubble tea, along with lemonade and smoothies.

The Plain City New Grounds will also feature assorted pastries by Der Dutchman, which are also served at the Hilliard shop.

In addition to the forthcoming Plain City and Hilliard locations, Willbarger also owns a West Jefferson coffeehouse, called The Daily Buzz, located at 62 E Main St.
