PITTSTON TWP. – The Pittston Township Firemen’s Picnic will be held from Wednesday, June 5, to Sunday, June 9, at the site of the former fire station on Bryden Street next to the Pittston Township Little League.

New for 2024 will be bigger and better carnival rides and a parade will take place on Saturday, June 8, as the fire department is teaming up with SwikaS Amusement, bringing nearly 50-years of fun and joy to children and adults with their carnival rides and amusements.

The days and hours of the picnic will be Wednesday through Friday, June 5 to June 7, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, June 8, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, June 9, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

According to Jordan Consagra, one of the organizers from the Pittston Township Fire Department, live music will be featured daily.

The entertainment schedule is as follows: Wednesday: Mike Elward Music (country music), Thursday: Triple Fret: Friday: The Taxmen (Beatles tribute band), Saturday: Mixed Up, Sunday: Slipstream (classic rock).

The Emergency Service Parade will step off between 1:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, with line up at the former Kmart parking lot at 1 p.m.

The parade will process north on the Pittston Bypass before entering Bryden Street.

“All the food will be cooked by the firemen,” Consagra said. “We will have the usual like sausage and pepper, egg and peppers, hamburgers, and plenty more. We will have beer and gambling games will be set up at the basketball court. We will have face painting as well for the kids.”

“This year we wanted to improve the rides for the kids to make them bigger and better,” Consagra said.
