The National Weather Service out of Pittsburgh is issuing a warning of potential severe weather for parts of West Virginia and Ohio.

Showers and thunderstorms will cross the region today with low pressure, according to the National Weather Service.

“There remains a chance for a few strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, which could produce hail, damaging winds, and possibly tornadoes. This lower probability threat for severe weather is primarily south of I-80. The tornado threat stays mainly south of Pittsburgh, the National Weather Service said.

Flash Flooding is also possible. Currently, Monroe County in Ohio and Wetzel County in West Virginia are under a Flash Flood Warning.

The National Weather Service confirmed on Wednesday that an EF2 tornado touched down in  Irondale, Ohio into Fairhaven, WV
