Commissioners Approve Agreement to bring Costco to Macon-Bibb County
A new Costco is coming to Macon-Bibb County thanks to the partnership of the consolidated government, Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority (MBCIA), and the Bibb County School District (BCSD). On Tuesday, October 20, the Macon-Bibb Commission approved a resolution requesting the Industrial Authority (MBCIA) issue revenue bonds up to $30 million primarily to assist with preparing the site and roads in the area for development.

Augusta leaders question Rick Jackson’s refinery investment, gas relief
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Some Augusta leaders are raising questions about whether Republican governor candidate Rick Jackson would work to lower gas prices in Georgia. Augusta-Richmond County Commissioner Jordan Johnson and State Representative Sheila Clark Nelson say Jackson invested $20 million in a Texas oil refinery that is set to ship American-produced diesel to India, instead of keeping that fuel in the U.S. for domestic use. The claim comes from a recent Bloomberg report cited by the leaders.
