Suspect sought in assault and robbery at Rochester gas station
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Police are investigating an early morning assault and robbery at a gas station. It happened around 4 am Tuesday in the 400 block of 4th Street SE. The Rochester Police Department says a 73-year-old male gas station employee reported being punched. The employee says suspect had been in the bathroom for a long time and the employee asked the person to exit the bathroom so it could be cleaned.

Dedication set for Byron Veterans Memorial
BYRON, MN.--The Byron Veterans Memorial is nearing completion. An official ribbon cutting in May is set to celebrate the end of its construction. Less than a month before the dedication ceremony on memorial day, can now view granite plaques honoring the different armed forces, flag poles, memorial statues and a surfaced walkway. The concept of the memorial started 10 years ago as Byron was one of the few Southern Minnesotan cities without one. Five years ago the project got off its feet with the help of a designated committee to help raise funds and raise awareness of its significance. A chairmember of the committee, Bob Pries told KIMT NEWS 3 why seeing the project through was personal to him.
