County Court Judge Lisa McGloflin’s investiture ceremony unfolded with formalities and acknowledgments as community members gathered to witness her ascension to the bench.

Representative Jansen Owen initiated the proceedings by introducing Resurrection Life Pastor Jacob Hickman for the opening prayer, followed by Boy Scout Troop 351 presenting the colors.

Chapel Hart performed the National Anthem unexpectedly, adding a patriotic touch to the ceremony. Tyler Alexander, President of the Pearl River Bar, officially commenced the event, welcoming attendees and introducing Judge McGloflin.

Owen acknowledged various individuals present for their contributions to the court system. Judge McGloflin’s cousin, Lara Bowman, shared a few words about her character and journey.

Judge Rhea Sheldon of the 10th Chancery District in Mississippi delivered the charge of office to Judge McGloflin, emphasizing the responsibilities she would undertake.

Judge Richelle Lumpkin, recently appointed to the 15th Circuit Court, administered the oath of office, signifying the formal transfer of duties.

After donning her robe and placing her hand on the Bible alongside her family, Judge McGloflin spoke briefly about her career path and aspirations. She expressed excitement about continuing her work in the youth and county courts, citing her mother’s influence as an educator.

Addressing the challenges ahead, Judge McGloflin mentioned the need to balance personal and professional life. “My biggest obstacle has been finding balance between home, work, and life,” she said.

As Judge McGloflin assumes her role on the bench, she looks forward to serving the community with dedication. The investiture ceremony was a formal recognition of her new position and responsibilities.
