Pet of the Week: Meet Luke!
Luke is an incredible dog but he's having a pretty hard time in the shelter. He's been there longer than any other dog and is more than ready to find his forever home. Luke is a year old, weighs about 50 pounds and is essentially a big puppy. He’s a big ball of energy and enjoys burning that energy by playing with other dogs at the shelter. He socializes well with other dogs and would do great in a home with other doggies, as long as they are playful too. Given his lack of structure before, the shelter has been working with Luke to help develop his manners. Luke is looking for a new owner who can join him on his path to success. As far as humans go, he’s been friendly with everyone he’s met at the shelter, but because of his energy and play style, a home with small kids might not be the best fit for him.

ROGUE WANDERER: Keep on pluckin’ — and don't judge
I may have jumped the gun when it came to a public performance with my bass, Lady Blue. I’d had about six weeks of instruction at Rogue Music Lessons in downtown Medford, and I felt I’d pretty well nailed “Happy Birthday.” I strummed it on Facebook for my friend Denise’s birthday. After watching it through 34 times, thereby desensitizing myself to the embarrassment, it never got any better and I began wondering what I saw in myself that I thought I should do this. When learning new things, advancement is slow, but sure.
