Readers response: Philly’s WNBA team name

Philadelphians know what they'd like to see a prospective WNBA franchise named if the league eventually brings a team here.

What's happening: Readers responded to Isaac's callout with about a half-dozen names.

Zoom in: Many said they preferred Philadelphia Belles, a play on the famous Liberty Bell that also refers to a charming woman.

What they're saying: "The mascot can be named Belle, and she should definitely have big eyelashes," Elizabeth S. says.

• Other names included the Philadelphia Freedom, Phrensy, Jeets and the Ringers.

Plus: Mary A. believes Philadelphia Menace is most fitting because it captures the city's reputation for being tough.

• "Everyone is annoyed by Philly teams," she says. "Plus it sounds intimidating. Bonus on that jawn."
