Three men charged after armed robbery at gas station in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Three men have been arrested and charged in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at a Citgo gas station in Petersburg on Friday.

At 2:45 p.m. on Friday, May 3, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police responded to a Citgo gas station located at 1500 East Washington Street for an armed robbery that had just occurred.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found men in the area that matched the description of the suspects. Following a chase on foot, police said three men were taken to custody without incident.

Police identified the men as 18-year-old Tyshon Jefferson, 18-year-old Tajon Copeland and 21-year-old Kylik Jones. All three have been charged and held with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

A fourth man, identified as 21-year-old, was also arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon.
